Possible AP Racing brake caliper repair? (FAO Chris wilson/Paul wiffin)

Today me and Keith (Kwalker705) set about fitting my line lock kit to the car, all was going well and everything was plumbed in and wired up quicker than we had planned! The only problem is that, when we started to bleed the brakes, 1 of the nipples snapped off while it was getting re-fitted. We have managed to drill out the old nipple and re-tapped the caliper with the correct size (M10x1) but its still letting brake fluid leak out once its tightened up.

The question we want to know is, can we just re-drill a bigger hole and re-tap it (M12) or will i need to send my caliper away to get repaired by a professional? I had to put on a Jspec caliper on the front just to get home, so need this sorted ASAP!

Would it be worth buying this and trying it?

Cheers

Alex

Sounds like you have damaged the angled cone seat the nipple seats against. I can have a look at it if you send the caliper over.

Send insured. Can't guarantee it's fixable without seeing it first. But there's every chance I can do it.

DO NOT go drilling or tapping anything any more!!!! :)

This sort of thing needs doing in the milling machine.
