Powersteering cooler bypass

For sure you can do that. If you have a manual gearbox an elegant way of having an unobtrusive and very efficient PAS cooler is to use the rad from an auto TT and use the redundant auto box cooler pipe stubs in the bottom rad tank as the PAS cooler. Or use the rad auto cooler element for the PAS and a bigger oil to air heat exchanger for the auto box if you have an automatic transmission.

 

As for not getting oil on the drive you are asking a highly technical question. You may have to do something bizarre like doing the pipe bypass on a different, none critical surface, or even using a high tech bit of gear like this, on the driveway:
