Would fitting 550cc injectors and running it on a map tuned for 440's be a no no..

I'm waiting on delivery of some rx7 injectors and to cut costs i wanted to fit them myself before I take it for mapping Im just wondering if its safe to do so?

Would be around 60miles away.

It'll run mad rich, and is not a good idea. You could drop the fuel line pressure to achieve whatever Lambda it shows at hot idle now, and hope, and keep it off boost, but it's not a good idea. Can you not swap injectors when you are at the mappers, or get the mapper to e-mail you a roughly leaned out map to load before you set out? I find it bizarre when people run cars on crude guesstimate maps, or maps they know are plain wrong. The cost of trailering or having a mapper visit is trivial compared to the cost of a damaged engine. It's especially bad to run a newly bored engine mad rich. I am not a mapper, just stating how I see it, were it my car ;)

Quick question Chris, I'm dropping 850cc injectors in mine on a standard ECU, will it be safe to idle and manoeuvre the car on these(no road driving) before it gets trailered for a mapping session.

The car will prob not start and will cause serious damage cranking let alone driving with 850cc injectors on a stock map.

Really? I'd of thought idling would be fine, only issues would be putting the car under any kind of load.

If that is the case, does anyone have any kind of base map I can have and download onto the ECU?

Just get the mapper to pull fuel overall. Who is mapping it? Is it an M600? In your first post you said standard ecu, I am confused.

I have the M600 I bought from you a year or so ago, but I have no idea what map is currently on it, though it did come off a supra, so the standard ECU is still in the car. I'd ideally like to start the car before it goes for mapping so I can put coolant in it and run some oil through it.
