Not updated in ages. I was going to drop a V8 into the new DAW car but things have changed and i personally think a mint TT BPU is a great "overal" car. Dont get me wrong the single i had and also the big twins gave me stupid ammounts of fun BUT i never used it much.

SO.... i have just bought a TT conversion with hybrid turbos and i plan on running this on a 5 speed manual box :D, should feel very rapid indeed and will give a nice bit of fun. big thanks to Lee at SRD and simon (bignum)

let the build start lol.......... nice to be back again :D

I would seriously recommend NOT using a W58. You'll soon get sick of the car if you're worrying about breaking the gearbox whenever you drive it. I'd have a stock TT autobox over a W58 any day, W58 is no good for anything over stock TT torque IMO.

I run a BPU on w58 at 1 bar and have had no problems in the 30 months I've owned it.

It all depends on the condition of the box, and how you drive it. Saying that, I don't drive like miss daisy, so I must be a lucky one with a good box.

R154 is the best bet. It's my plan for the future, on a small single.

I'm not saying it WILL last, but I'm not saying it WONT last. It's a gamble. Worst comes to the worst, kill the box and buy an R154. What is there to lose?
