At least it looks stock bar the wheels, i'd be going through the history very carefully to see what if anything

other than service parts have been replaced.

Could be a very nice car or could be a money pit, find out the mileage which you can cross reference with the cars

mots and service history.

I want to buy this car, I'm not a seller. I called seller and tomorrow I going to see this car. I just want to know you opinion is this car worth that money

Whats the mileage, if its done 200,000 then its over priced, if its done 50,000 then its

possibly worth it if its a nice car in the flesh, impossible to tell from photos and without

going through its service history

Get a VERY good look under any uk car and especially at the brake lines. My uk needed the sills welding and brake lines replacing before I sold it. Wasn't cheep.

Colour is a matter of preference. Blue is a lovely colour. Though I'm biased. :)

I'd never have a stock silver 199 silver one for example. Yawn!

As a reference I sold my uk car about a year ago. Auto but same colour. 150k miles 400bhp for half that price. AND I'd just spent £1000 on rust and brake line repair. And the car was 90% stonechip free as most of the car had been painted recently.

Do t fall in love with the first car you see.

Have a look at the SMIC, they tend to be falling apart at this age, look through the opening where

the drivers side front indicator is, take a torch with you, the diff coolers are also prone to be

very tired too, that's in the drivers side rear wheel arch in front of the wheel.

The radiator and heater matrix will also be potential things in need of replacement, check the heater

works and blows very hot on max setting and check the A/C blows very cold on max cold setting

Front cross members are also prone to rusting badly now but very hard to check unless you get

under the car, its situated under the radiator.

120 still a lot, i'd be saying more like 9.5-10.5k

Ignore a dealer who calls anything mint.

Not just dealers, anyone selling a car seems to use this term which you

should ignore and judge it for yourself

Well with that mileage i'd say be careful as it could very well need a few

parts in the near future if mine was anything to go by.

Valve stem seals, diff cooler, smic, dampers, heater matrix, front cross member,

radiator, aerial mast, alarm system, seized eccentric adjusters on suspension, arb

drop links, split outer seals on brake calipers causing pistons to seize, rust around

the window seal in the tailgate etc etc

Yeah I baught mine at 120k (which isn't a lot for a 20 year old car don't forget) it needed stem seals and dampers after a while but it had a new rad and a fmic when I got it.

But the car in general was better than my jap import with half the miles. There isn't a 100% rule to go by

Pretty safe to say if it is 100% original it will need money spending on it which could add up

to quite a lot if done with new o/e parts and you have to pay a garage/specialist to do the

work.

Going through the history carefully is critical in my opinion

I saw this car yesterday and I have a lot to say:

1) in every servis only oil has been changed, in 2002 front and rear brakes and timing gear, not regular servises

2) dealer said that he has this car in garage for 8 months

3) road tax expired in July 2012

4) car looks very nice, no rust, color looks very nice in my opinion too nice as 21 years old car

5) I havent took mechanic with me (work) so I cant really tell about engine, sound not bad, no grey smoke

6) car was in garage so light wasnt very good to see what i wanted to see, I said to dealer that I will be on Sunday again with mechanic and do a test drive, but today I went again to website and saw price increased to 12.995, yesterday he said 11.500

7) car has 123k

8) for me is too many question mark about this car

9) so my conclusion is that this car is not worth that money IMO

I just want to thanks everybody for everything you said, that help me a lot.

Now I need to see this one: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?305227-UK-spec-6-Speed-manual-Supra-1993-White
