Hey all.

I have a spare NA Ypipe and throttle body i have been refurbishing sat in a box and was wondering if i should get it 'ported and polished'?

I see this term thrown around a fair bit, have no clue what it involves but thought if it will squeeze a few more bhp i may aswell do it price depending. Anyone recommend someone i can contact for a quote?

Thanks jake

Porting is port matching, this makes sure the ports (say on your intake and your head) don't have any overlap between them which can cause turbulence. Polishing is also referred to as Gas flowing, this basically removes the imperfections and casting lumps etc to enable free flowing gas through the system.

Doing just they Y pipe and throttle body may give a couple of BHP if any, Really you would need to do the whole intake system (Throttle body, Plenum and stack) the head (inlet, exhaust ports and valve faces) and the exhaust manifold done to gain a few BHP

Thanks for the explanation. :) Good to know.

Advanced Motorsport and engineering do it. Had the option when I had my head rebuilt but didn't bother. The rebuild was already costly enough.

Thanks i will drop them an email.
