Just been reading a thread that got me thinking...
Tranmission losses seem to always be quoted as a %. Is this actually the case?
For example say you had a 100hp engine connected to a gearbox that sapped 20hp (20%) giving 80hp at the wheels, if you then bolted a 500hp engine to the box, surely it would still only sap 20hp and not 100hp? (I'm just thinking in very simplistic terms.)
Or is that not the case?
