17mm.....

is there any old size that same as 17mm spanner...i.e 11/16th etc.... i dont know which it would be!

Im trying to do my brake pads and my bro has lost 17mm to Socket set....and the flippin spanner!!:mad:

1 inch = 25.4mm
25.4mm / 16 = 1.5875mm
1.5875mm * 11 = 17.4625mm

So an 11/16th socket will fit 17mm bolt but is a little too big. I wouldn't recommend it on something as highly torqued up as a caliper bolt.

11/16" is fine to use on caliper bolts. try it and see how it feels.
