Carpet dye

I've used the Valeters Pride stuff, along with dye from other manufactures but they all seem to end up wearing off and the carpet returns to a dark grey. I've dyed four Supra carpets so far and they've all done the same - am I doing something wrong?

I have heard this before one of the reason why I don't want to dye mine. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have mine done about 2 years now, used Fabric spray with a UV protector; still as black and the dye never came off

To be fair mine is still as dark as that. It's just nothing like as black as it was when I first dyed it. I pressure washed mine too before it was dyed and used a fabric protector.
