View Full Version : Aftermarket ECU for VVTi
Is anyone running a full replacement ECU on a 2jz-gte VVTi? I want to use the AEM, but I have to make a translation box for the VVTi operation. Is anyone using a different aftermarket (full replacement) ECU?
I *believe* Motec can run it with vvti etc...
Think Sound performance got one running with the AEM as a piggyback to that standard ECU.
Not much help - sorry.
But I'm more than interested in further information ;)

Motec M800 series ecu will definitely run the VVti with late software. You can download demo software and full specs from www.motec.com.au
I am using an M800 to run my Skyline VVti system, works fine.
motec expensive, AEM I have a lot of experience with
The new Autronic should be out or nearly out with VVTi control.

The HKS FCON VPRO is in the same price range as the AEM and it will give you full control of the VVT-i, drive by wire, transmission shift, etc... The only problem is that you have to be a HKS Pro tuner to get access to their tuning software...unless of course you have a friend who can hook you up with a copy of the said software. If you do, make sure that his key does not become public as they would be able to trace it back to him and from what I understand, the penalties imposed by HKS would be stiff. To be on the safe side, you could get it from him without a key (or dongle or whatever they use) and just make your own which I am quite sure you are very capable of, Arnout;) If you can't make create the key, I would be MORE than happy to help you with that :D
