Newbie with big plans in need of advice

Hello my name is Bart i live in Weymouth dorset im 15 and own a honda civic fast and furious replica

So my plans are to sell this and buy a supra rolling shell aerotop in order to make a fast and furious replica but it depends if it is at least a 4 seater as im not sure if not it will have to be standard and a little litre toyota donor car to do a engine swap so i could have it as my first car without paying 10k on insurance the reason i would like to make it a replica is because i love f&f and i want a unique car my saying is that life is too short to drive boring cars all help appreciated thanks in advance as i have a couple of questions what is the best car to use ? Are the aerotop just 2 seaters ? What would the insurance be like with the engine swap ? (Will ring insurance aswell) and what kind of money am i looking at ?

Regardless of what you do, the insurance is going to ruin you.

And all supras are 4 sweaters unless the rear seats have been removed.

Also if you want the full replica it will need a roll cage so you can't use the rear seats.

And the insurance will destroy you!

Your 15 and have a F&F replica civic? You will have better luck insuring that! I would normally try and make an effort with a newbie "dream" but tbh, im not in the mood! MY advice would be to sell the civic and invest in some grammar lessons. Maybe listen in class on how to do proper sentences instead of dreaming!

I will see what it will be like with a small engine and whats wrong with building cars whilst going to school ?

Thanks ever since i was little i dreamed about owning a supra and always been into cars so i dont see why theres people so negative about my plans and me at the end of the day we all love cars so whats the need ?

Im 19 years old so can understand your enthusiasm! But as others have said insurance companies wont want to know. I get quotes for 1.2 Renault Clio's and there about £3000 to insure as a new driver. The best advice I can give you is stick at it. Maybe buy a cheap N/A supra and make it a project until you understand more about the car and can afford to insure and maintain it

We care about making at least a token effort with spelling and grammar, and until you make an effort, you will find very little help here.

Do some mock insurance quotes as if you have just passed to get an idea of what will be cheaper for you, I seriously doubt some companies will insure you as it will be a "too much too soon scenario" so I would get something slow and boring and rack up the ncb years and then get something you like.

If money is not a problem then rather than bumming myself insuring a modded car I would do the above and save the difference and then after a few years you will already have the money and experience to buy something special.

I've been quoted for £500 on my civic which is 1.5 lsi with mods declared from a new drivers specialist insurer and i fix cars on weekends sometimes week days after school and have been around cars since i was 10 and have been buying, fixing and selling cars since 14 so i do know about cars and how to maintain them if not i wouldn't be going for a engine swap also i dont want to be running a 3 litre as it would be hard for me to afford therefore the engine swap so yeah please dont think tht im the kind of a spoilt teenager that one day woke up and thought i want a supra

That insurance will probably be for you to have an adult with you, as soon as you go solo you may as well bend over and lube up.

Don't worry... you'll understand when you're past 30. I won't bullshit you though... it's a big ask getting a modified Supra for a first car. You'll either need DEEP pockets for insurance money or a very open-minded older friend, parent or someone who is willing to transfer their full-no-claims bonus onto the car and have you as a named driver. That's what I did when I bought my XR3i at 15 years old and stripped it, rebuilt the engine and painted it so it was ready to drive when I passed my test. It took the insurance down from £3k to £700.

That's my advice anyway. You have time on your side so think it through properly.

Well i do make an effort as i cud b writin lik dis like some other people my age who dropped school and instead do drugs whereas i go to school am predicted c's and fix/mod cars in spare time

Because other forums are chavy boy racers and like text speak.

We are supra enthusiasts and don't care for it.

And you could be a great speller but still be bad at grammar or vice versa so no, they are not linked.

Also on this forum, we have a lot of banter.

Just roll with it, if you're genuine and play along, you will go far and enjoy it.

Haven't read the whole thread but you could always buy one as a very long term project and plan to insure it when you're 21 or something - if you're really set on it
