Wideband Gauge questions...

Right guys..

as stupid as this sounds.. :taped:

If you were going to install a AEM / or another manufacture wideband afr sensor, would you simply remove the stock o2 unit and install the new unit? (this is on a stock car with no modfications, eg no new downpipe). This is really to have it installed for TTC mode.

Thanks!

That's the fella! That is also very cheap! I'm sure I paid £250 for mine although it was like nearly 4 years ago now!

You get a weld on bung with that kit so just take it to any welder or exhaust shop and get them to drill a hole and weld that bung on and your sorted :)

hum I would but then im swaping the second cat back in for mots

would not just above the flange between the cats on the first be just about ok ?

The actual sensor is on a plug that sits under the car by you exhaust. So when you change the decat for the cat you can just unplug it. All that will happen is your AEM gauge will just read 14.2 or something like that. I'm sure it's says in the manual that the sensor should be at least 32 or 42 inches from the turbo housing I can't remember now. Will try and find the instruction and let you know.

It should be at least 36 inches downstream of the turbo
