j_jza80
Hammerite heat resistant paint will work well. Just make sure you clean the bits up well with thinners/ degreaser first, and let it thoroughly dry.
heckler
I powerder coated all the Ali bits in the engine bay, but I suspect hammerite will be just fine

Dnk
All my bits were powder coated with no issues Edited December 11, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
Tricky-Ricky
Kind of depends what parts, dedicated exhaust parts, heat shields will need a VHT paint, but for everything else including cam covers, intake, engine block and even the cold side of the turbo can be painted with 2K in any colour you can think of, it will hold up fine. MattP
I was going to have the same company that powder coated my wheels do the parts but jurgen was telling me horror stories about damaging parts etc
dude
If you want the heat shields to stay looking good it will HAVE to be camcoat, as said powdercoat will be fine for the other parts
MattP
No worries il get the bits off and sort this out just wanted to get this bay smartened up
MattP
Finally got the engine bay stripped down my concern now is this throttle body am I ok to strip down all of the bits on it plastic covers sensors etc?
Kev.O
You can strip everything off it. My advice would be to take as many pictures during the strip down as possible as it's a little tricky to put back together a month or so later
MattP
Good news i thought I was going to have to powder coat everything else and hand paint the throttle but that clears things up thanks
Dnk
I stripped the t/b down this far then masked it up and very carefully media blasted it, then de masked it and got it 100% clean, then re masked it up prior to painting it. MattP
Just a tad time consuming nature of the beast and all that
