Brake lights not working!

very first post on the forum, both my brake lights and high level light arent working. checked all fuses and the 15a fuse in the driver footwell was blown and replaced and they temporarily worked again. they have now gone again and i have replaced the fuse for a second time althouygh this time it made no difference.

As well as replacing the fuse i did ask my mechanic to have a look at the bulb housing etc, he concluded that the wiring around the tailgate, boot and all rear lights is a f***** joke! as none of it is hardwired in anywhere. my concern is that there is deeper problems than just the fuse blowing, i.e an issue with the wiring and one of the ciruits.

has anyone else had similar problems or is this just down to the fact that some cowboy has ran riot with what appears to be all electrics throughout the car?! ( i wont get started on the mess behind the head unit!!)

As a footnote, when sorting out some of the headunit wiring, the rear fog light wires did spark, but surely if anything this would have blown the fuse for the rear fog and not the brake lights and it thus having no bearing on the brake lights not working?! correct me if im wrong.

only had the car 3 weeks!!!

thanks in advance
