ok so I put the engine and autobox together and put them in the car a few weeks ago, today I went to put the bolts through the flexi into the torque converter so I was turning the crank to get the holes to marry up but the torque converter kept turning also... then suddenly with a jolt something gave way. After this everything went together easily and without problem. I cant start the car until my engine bay loom arrives. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Should I expect to take the autobox off again? Bollocks:(

It's probably fine. DaveP's made the 'twangy' noise when we were lining the TC up. It was correctly fitted to the box by lining it up with the oil pump. The flex plate is thin, it's the blocky parts on the back of the torque convertor catching on the holes in the flex plate.

Chill homie! So long as you were careful lining the TC up on the box, which it sounds like you were, it will be fine!
