Guest aspire
if the rubber gaitor on the rear coilover becomes brittle and splits would this become an MOT fail? IF SO CAN THESE GAITORS BE BOUGHT
tony tt
Don't think it's a failure as long as the spring and shock is in working order.

Not sure if you can buy new ones i suppose you could. Probably just get punctured and torn when stones get fired up at high velocity of leptons at times. markssupra
Are you talking about the stock rubber gaitors covering the shock inside the spring? If you are then you can get them from Toyota. They are supposed to stop crud getting onto the shocks exposed piston rod, I have a pair for sale in very good condition, £30 delivered if your interested
Chris Wilson
It's certainly not an MOT fail. They are quite dear as genuine Toyota parts, as they also incorporate the noise insulator ring the top of the springs sit on. (Between top of spring and top mount).
