Tsia
Hi all, I'll soon be having a TT engine in to replace the NA and I saw on a For Sale thread that aftermarket launch/traction control does not work with NA hubs - what's the reasoning behind this, and is it possible to convert them at a later date? Thanks!
keron
It does as long as you have abs... Na and tt came with abs... Some na's did not...mainly some autos
Nic
The Racelogic traction control uses the standard ABS sensors, if you have ABS then as Keron says it'll work. If you don't have ABS, Racelogic sell a wheel sensor kit, so it can be made to work on any Supra.
Tsia
So I'm looking for one of these critters in my engine bay? If so, no luck for me! Edit: Can't seem to find a 'definitive' picture on Google!
Nic
From memory there is an ABS light on the dash which should illuminate when you turn the key, or just stomp on the brakes at speed, if the wheels lock up no ABS. Post up a pic of you engine bay and we'll be able to tell you yay or nay.
Tsia
aaaandd.... Sorry for blurry pictures, my camera really doesn't like the dark.
SPG
You don't have ABS, and the pic that Nic supplied was from a left hand drive car, so the pics should be of the passenger side bay
Nic
No ABS
Tsia
Bugger, so no TC in the future for me! Well, I assume it's possible to fit it... unless it's extremely costly, that is.
Nic
and the pic that Nic supplied was from a left hand drive car Wasn't me

supra joe
I'm curious as to this for when I go big power because I have no ABS, is there any benefits of having it or not ? And is it easy to fit to the car if need be ?
Tsia
Check the Racelogic site, the wheel sensors are not cheap. At least I know it can be done. After all, if something cheap and used comes up, I can snatch it. Alternatively, how difficult is it to retrofit TT ABS?

Nic
It's simpler to learn how to drive. Yeah us older folk learnt to drive without any of these new fandangled driver aids. Saying that I did manage to roll my first car 4 times, although I'd have needed ASS (Anti Stupidity System) to have avoided that one! Tsia
It's simpler to learn how to drive. While I'm at it, fuck getting expensive tyres and keeping my suspension in good condition, i'll just learn how to drive, right? ....right? I just thought it may be something I'd want to add in a few years' time.
