Best Piggyback ECU for single???

Hi what will be the best piggyback ecu to use for a single turbo convertion if you dont want to spend the money for a standalone ecu? I only want max 550bhp to 600bhp. A nice street setup. Its a vvti and auto.

AEM does a nice piggy back that Ryan did map a couple of times iirc.

A lot of members use the greddy emanage ultimate, it's a pretty good piggyback unit and fairly inexpensive. I'd personally spend a little more and get a decent second hand standalone unit.

Most piggy backs are poor , its always best to save now and you will save your self a head ache later on, I wish I would of listened and saved that little extra

£1000-1500 for the ECU, then around £300-400 for mapping with Ryan, Well worth it though. One of the best ECU's out there .

HKS F Con V Gold is a good ecu, Lee P had one for £850 with the harness

Apexi PowerFC would be my choice of piggy back. Best looking on RX-7 and Honda forums for them 2nd hand. They tend to be expensive though.

I thought the power fc was a standalone unit?

HKS F-con Lee is selling will be your best bet. Apexi PFC is stand alone, only good for manual cars.

get a look a round the forums .. alot the F-con´s is going out and in goes the syvecs and ProEfi´s .. so there is a good bargain to do from time to time

I remember reading about how Ryan has got a new mapper joining syvecs to take some of the work load off him and provide better support, so Ryan's availability shouldn't be an issue.

I've run a GT35R on a Greddy E-Manage Blue then Ultimate since 2004, seems to work just fine (apart from a mystery warm start issue that might not even be anything to do with it).

I think brand new with the right gubbins these are £600? Significantly less than a Syvecs and perfectly capable of doing the job, just less bells and whistles. I hear of these mystery nightmares with EMU units but never any real detail as to what the problems are.

Another vote for the EMU, never had any problems with mine running a GT 4088 at about 550BHP.

I have and HKS F Con Pro that was mapped by Ryan G. It does all I want, but I do hear that Syvecs does some quite sexy things like reducing torque at gear change etc, so that you can have more power through the box!

Personal preference and available cash will be the decider for you no doubt.
