Hi guys,

i recently bought a supra and the previous owner changed the original hood to the top secret hood.

A photo of my car with the hood here

But i completely forgot to ask this question when i bought the car.

Basically when you wash a car with a hood like this, is there any particular point i should care of ?

May i damage some parts if some water fall in the holes ?

That may be a funny question but i prefers ask before doing something wrong.

Thank you in advance.

Julien.

With my vents

What I do is I have two bin liners which are split to make a large sheet and cover (for my bonnet) left and right hand side of the engine so all the water falls onto the bin liner when I wash it.

When I am done I carefully start rolling up the bin liner edges so all the water goes to the middle so you end up with a bag of water and throw the water away and my engine is bone dry still.

Will try and get some pics so you know what I mean if you like

Thank you guys for your very fast answers!

@Westy

Yeah, that is what i was thinking about, if the rain can go there is no reason why i could not wash it normally, but, i just want to be sure ^^

@mplavery

What a gorgeous supra you have !

Yep, any other pics of the process would help me to understand better i think.

But, its not in a hurry, so whenever you have time, it would be a great help!

Also Top Secret bonnets should have rain guards which direct the water away from anything sensitive, might have been misplaced before the car reached you though. Im ordering one off Varis for my bonnet as i want to use it and rainy Ireland sucks, i presume TS would be able to get you one as well.
