All after doing some work on my rear hubs i found that some of my threads to the supension bolts where getting a little poor , so next time i work on them i want to clean all the threads up to make things go alot smoother when i next work on them , but i remember something about it being a funny thread size

does anyone know what the toyota thread type is ?

i was looking to get a kit like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/42pc-Re-Thread-Tool-Kit-Set-UNC-UNF-and-Metric-Sizes-Taps-Dies-and-Files-New-/400359000710?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5d37418a86#ht_3222wt_1018

Metric is what you'll need but it would appear there are a few non standard

sizes.

What i mean is larger diameters with finer pitch threads which the tap and die

set won't have in it.

As far as any bolts go just clean them with a wire wheel on a bench mounted

motor or even in a drill

nice one dunk,

maybe one of the files will have the finer pitch i wouldnt know but seems a very handy bit of kit to have on hand

Don't bother with files, a wire wheel will clean the threads up no problem

and if it doesn't then you really need new bolts or nuts in my opinion
