Manifold Coating vs Wrap

Anyone have any views on this?

Been in discussion with Zircotec about having my manifold coated. Looking at around £302 for the manifold. Priced me £91 for the exhaust turbo housing and around £120 for the downpipe.

Be a lot cheaper to wrap it, but is it worth cutting corners?

I get loads of heat soak onto the throttle body running over head intake. Is all this hasshle worth it, or shall I spend the money on a decent turbo blanket (mines old).

The price for the manifold wasn't including VAT or shipping. So that's straight up to £360+. I'm throwing in the towl at that point.

New turbo blacket for me I think.

It would be good to see some hard comparisons of wrap against coatings. I think the main factor is cost, as with most things.

Zircotec is great but not cheap. My twins have been zircotec coated then wrapped, does keep temps down. usually just a wrap is good enough though

Are zircotec top of their game? Did you shop around before going to them, be nice to see who else you considered :)

i never got it done, it was already done as i bought the twin kit off lee. they are the best in business though!! by far! i thought it would cost more than you have been quoted, thats a good price. Looks far better than any wrap but im not knocking wrapping as that too "does the job"

They do seem really nice people to deal with. Corrospondance is really fast and pleasent, and their answers and heavy with detailed information. You almost feel rude for bothering them as you know how much effort they will make to your reply.

They were very informative and had answers for all my questions, even example pieces to back up what they were saying, definitely a top grade product and if you have the wallet well worth getting :)

Not sure about a single manifold but an NA tubular manifold with incorporated 1st decat requires 50mtrs of 1" and 10mtrs of 2"

I see, I think I PM'd Hodge after he done his and he said around 50m for the manifold and 15m for the down pipe.
