This is a copy post from my Supracharger thread that may save a member or two some grief!

I've discovered that DBA 5000 front discs are not completely compatible with U.K. spec shims and pads.

The pics tell the tale.

Wear on disc nuts

Catching on anti-squeal tag

Now clipping one and soon the other

I've clipped off the anti-squeal shim bottom locating tags, the pins locate them fine without.

Casting rough removed with file

They'll need reprofiling with a flappy wheel by a mm or 3 to clear as the pads wear down

Thats not very good, its one thing modding the shim but having

to grind away the pads is pretty poor.

I've always stuck with OE discs and never felt the need to use

anything else.

A good heads up though to anyone else using these or are

about too

Reshaping the steel pad backing and won't interfere with the stopping, yet should it not be attended to before making hard contact, it could cause breasts to point skywards.

I looked at the DBA 5000 a long time ago, the main thing that put me off is they are not floating but directly bolted.

Unless your on track there an expensive upgrade in my opinion that you really

don't need.

Since they are not floating I wouldnt use them on track either, for me a road car with occasional track use is best on OE discs with decent pads and fluid :D

Agreed and great value for money with the o/e discs being

only £120 for a pair of fronts.

From what i can see the DBA 5000 look like their over $800

or £500 +
