Hi,
As my supra still on the ship, I need some help from the Jap spec Supra TT owners.
I would like to know
1. How are the original factory speakers?
Are they sounds ok?
Or need a upgrade for sure.

I got a genesis profile 2 and profile 4 amps.
And got a Alpine head units (only with preout)
And a Rockford 12" Sub.

2. Do I really need to get a set of component?
Or I can use factory speakers will be alright( the problem is that my headunit only has preout)

Thanks for help.

Also, do I really need to customise the inside inorder to fit the tweeters?
And how much will that cost me to customise my doors?

Hi Mate,

I have fitted a set of components to my supe as i thought with all the rest of the ice being done something was lacking in clarity.

I have done a custome build my self to incorporate the whole speaker and tweeter and did this for about £25!!

It just took a little time and some MDF, Nuts and Bolts, Fabric Gle and some fabric.

Im using a set of 6.5inch speakers which wont origanaly fit but it now looks and sounds lovely.

Ill get some pics and post them on my next reply for you.

Rgds,

Factory speakers didn't sound bad to me until I upgraded (only as the perished)

I read loads of tutorials and ideas but eventually went with this easy one:
You just need an MDF ring behind the door panel and screw into that. I installed 6.5" Alpine Type R this way (Sound 100% better) Door shuts fine, totally stable. I tried making metal brackets to screw into the door but it was very difficult to match up with the hole. Also not really needed.

Only minor trimming around existing hole is required.

The MDF cost me a quid as an offcut at Homebase.

The result is great, almost OEM except for the new grill.

I too have an Alpine head unit with 4x45W output, no other amps (except for sub) and it sounds fantastic.
