Hi - hoping someone can give me any ideas of whats up with my surpa...

About 3 weeks ago I was on the motorway heading up to Glasgow and floored it (stepping on the button underneath the pedal) and the revs went right into red then I seen white smoke in the rear view mirror. Apart from that it was still driving ok until I stopped at the lights. When I tried to pull away I had to keep the revs high before it would engage in any gear. It was getting worse as time when on and finally got it parked. When I went back to it a couple of hours later it would start but wouldn't do anything in any gear. I checked the ATF dip stick and it was dry - could this just be a leak somewhere?

So I got it towed back to my house and didnt look at it until a couple of days ago. I have bought a couple of litres of ATF fluid to see if it might just be a leak so at least I could get it to the garage but when I tried to unlock it it would open. I had been in and out of the car to get a couple of things about a week ago so it did unlock then but hasnt been opened for a week. I changed the battery in the key fob and still nothing. They key has never worked in the lock either.

Has anybody got any ideas on why I cant get into it and how to get into it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Use the key in the boot and climb through ;)

White smoke tends to be oil. Have you checked your oil level? You could have blown a crank seal if there was a lot of smoke.

As for the transmission problem, I can't you I'm afraid.

White smoke i'd say was coolant rather than oil and the autobox relies on

the ATF for it to work.

Try the key in the passenger door unless you already have.

The remote isn't possibly opening the doors due to the cars battery

being flat
