Sorry

another tyre thread (I know there are MANY)

I need two front 235 45 17 tyres for my Twin Turbo auto (1994)

It currently has Bridgestone RE 040 tyres and although they have a bit of tread left the off side one has a nail in it and needs pumping every other day (and besides this each time i think of using the right pedal i think of the nail!)

The dry grip of these tyres seems amazing to me but I have only experienced these tyres to date.

From looking at threads i have decided on SO3's or Goodyear Eagle F1's

The rear 255's will be replaced in few months

Can i have some opinions on which please and then i can stop pumping and start driving properly again

thanks

Peter

I'm very impressed with the SO-3's for both wet and dry performance and I also seem to get good mileage out of the rears.

I haven't tried F1's, but I know that there are a lot of people on here who will highly recommend them.

I asked one of our race drivers, who does performance car tests for european magazines, what he thought the best road car tyres were - answer - Michelin Pilot Sports by a long way.

Buy the best you can afford :)

I have just looked at the michelin site again and whilst the "check available size list" clearly does not include my 17 in size or for that matter your rear tyre size when you look at the reccommendations for the car they clearly imply that they do !

I take it you recommend these highly? (Albeit yours are larger)
