Just a quick preview pic of my 1JZ engine i bought over the winter. Ill be fitting it into my 5 speed N/A which sadly decided it didn't need a crank pulley anymore.

Hopefully i shall be fitting the new engine next week . Iv not gone over board with stripping it down, just done all service items and checked general Component conditions. The only thing that may throw a spanner in the works is the electric side of things but that can wait until its fitted.

I can't wait for BOOST haha.

Here is a before and after pic of the engine.

Very very interesting.

To those who did it:

Did you go with the 1JZ engine-loom and ecu or how did you do it? I mean do all the gauges actually work etc.

Another foolish question: is this a dash-out job as the dash loom has to be adapted too or something?

Thanks, Herbert

i used the 1jz ecu and loom and spliced it into the 2JZ N/a wiring inside the cabin (you dont need the dash out, ) just cut the 2jzgte plugs and splice the 1JZgte wiring into it.

Have a look at this http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?263818-1JZ-Project-Tips-and-Advice-Most-Welcome&highlight=1jzgte

The left hand grey one goes to your steering rack. The one I can't tell by the picture, take more! ;)

One thing I have noticed; You look to have used silicone vacuum hose on the water feeds from your turbos to the water neck, (In that pic). You'll have to change that for some proper rubber hose and clips, or you'll have big problems!
