The subject pretty much explains the situation! Except to add that the front suspension is rattling a little (nothing compared to rear).

Toyota say they only have standard suspension on list. Hunting through the Search on this forum I found potential part numbers for Bilstein shocks here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10711&highlight=bilstein

...and totally different part numbers here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28013&highlight=bilstein

So what am I looking for, where can I get them (cheapest :) ) and is there anything else I should know about?

Cheers all!

Think the number with 48510 or 48530 is a good number. But the ones I have on mine finish with 720D??

Have you seen these? Don't know if this is what you are looking for.

Feedback from Toyota:

"Both 48530-09015 and 48510-09015 are available on 48 hrs stock but wait for it, the prices are very high.
Front are £142.80 each + fitting + V.A.T.
Rears are £174.49 each + fitting + V.A.T."

Apart from the Ebay auction above, does anyone know of a cheaper supply? These are the yellow Bilsteins I think.

ALSO: I have to drive up and down a pot-hole ridden track (slowly mind you!) every day. Might it be a better idea to swap to standard suspension or will the car roll then give me nightmares?

Cheers,

Ice

I can confirm that they are the correct part numbers.

If spending that much, does CW still do his kit? That may be worth a look.

Yeah Toyota say they are the only parts they have available. Did the UK cars have Bilstein shocks as default?

Anyone else I should throw e-mails about this?

Cheers for the help so far!

From memory there are 3 different shocks

Standard soggy UK are black

Standard J spec - not sure of colour, harder that UK spec

J spec bilstiens are yellow and harder again.

I think there are also grey ones, can't remember what they are.

From what I've seen the grey Jap ones are TRD Bilsteins. I couldn't say what the difference to yellow Bilsteins is!

There was some on ebay the grey ones I mean

The part numbers for the rear standard J-specs is

T48530-19516 price £69.54 each + £12.17 VAT each.

I know this because I am looking at the receipt for the ones I fitted to my last car.

As far as body roll lets put it this way my car was no slouch round a track and in the twisties held on quite nicely around silverstone following a far more nimble MR spider. It was also nowhere near as teeth rattling as my current motor that is on Yellow Billies (and TRD anti roll bars lol)
