Weird clunking noise - help please

Hey everyone,

I have a 2000 RZ-S TT tiptronic, I have only had it for a few months and a clunking noise started after having to brake semi heavily but not too hard.

I had to get onto the brakes at a set of lights and as I got close to a stop something started clunking. That was the last I heard of it until it really started raining and from then when I would slow down (on the brakes really gently in heavy rain) a similar clunking noise would occur and it sounded like it was from the rear.

The weird thing was it doesn't stop there, once you slowed or stopped and then went to drive off again the noise will continue clunking until you get some speed up and the car doesn't feel right. It's very hard to explain.

I have checked the wheel wells to see if anything was touching and I have gone under the vehicle also but can't see anything.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and if they know what it is?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
