FOSTA Posted March 18, 2013 Share Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) After speaking to stevo the other day I decided to finish this. thought I'd try somthing alittle different. Don't think I've seen this done before and i hope it turns out ok and fits without fouling the top secret bonnet. Im attempting to carbon skin the top of the stock fan shrowd and paint the rest Saturn black. Got this off kaan, he had a go at painting it yellow so that's why I need to paint it back to black. i then brushed on the black carbon base coat. After laying the carbon fabric and 4 coats of apoxi resin later this is what it looks like, still needs a few more coats and sanding flat and smooth. 7 coats of apoxi later and it looks like its ready to be polished, I've give the rest a sand and give it a good coat of high build primer. FOSTA Posted March 18, 2013 Author Share Posted March 18, 2013 Give it a wet sand and polish: masked up the top and painted the rest Saturn black The paint is still wet here, but I took the masking tape off so it didn't pull any paint off with it. Oooops sorry, I actually had this posted on another forum and just copied and pasted it here as this was started months ago but I only just decided to finish it the other day and got it done today so thought if post up here too. :/ I've edited the photos so just let me know if they are acceptable, no company name is on show now.
