My Engine is Out, what should I do to it

Guys, as i am rebuilding my crashed car, my bpu tt engine is out of the old shell ready to go into my new shell. While it is out, what should i do to it to refresh and keep it in tip top shape? Am already powder coating some components, like the turbo pipes and cam covers, plus changing all oils and cleaning it.

My Engine doesn't come out of the car often, so what should i do to it while out?

Ps: no suggestions about going single, as i don't want to. When ready, will buy a proper single built by Lee P or someone else.

Cheers

Sounds like you're doing pretty much the same as me with an engine. Does your bay need painting? Maybe give the bay and parts that aren't coming out the best clean you can while no engine is in the way. Shaved my knuckles just by changing dam headlight bulbs this evening so would be light work for you with a spacious bay.

All the flexi rubber piping, water pump, oil pump, rocker head gaskets/bolts/nuts/washers, ignition coil conectors, timing belt, fan belt, torque all the important nuts and bolts and get them to the right settings, on and on it goes, it does depend on the depth of your pockets and your availible time realy.

Change your oil pump. Modify the oil return from the crank seal. While its all out install a new timing belt and tensioner and do the rear crank seal. Basically the bits that you cant do unless you remove the engine. (Sump must be removed to do the oil pump)
