Good point about the screen moving with the wheel so it wouldn't really work!!

Rob has his in a good place.

Other option is you customise the dash and have it fitted into the dash, so have a single din sound system and then get rid of the switches below and mount it there?

thats what i was going to do BUT when we mocked it up the glare that hit the screen made it impossible to see anything.... but im sure there are other places to mount custom though, i just went for function over looks on this occassion

Good point about the glare!! Though for me it wouldn't bother me as most of my driving is in the evening, weekends, though that is form over function.

Another option is to customise the passenger side compart\airbag on the dash, though again the glare could be an issue.

Ideally you want to integrate the display into your touchscreen media station , Alpine unit for example

It is as simple as plugging in the AV cable into the AUX . but to use the functionality of the Touchscreen you will need to link it via AI.NET; how difficult it is to program I am not sure.

But I am sure a physical toggle switch to Navigate the menus would not be too bad

No point re-inventing the wheel when companies like Alpine have put a lot of $$ into R&D and User experience
