Engine Stabilizer - Any Help?

I have to ask, what on earth is that supposed to be for :) Why wouldn't you want your engine to be able to move on the mounts? And if you don't, fit solid engine mounts.

I wouldn't expect a single M6 bolt with a short shank into aluminium to a) be rigid and b) last 5 minutes before stripping the thread :)

It's to stop the engine twisting to much and putting stress on the gearbox which caused my last box to let go. You wouldnt need it on the street but on the drag strip the engine moves quite abit when shifting gear

I once made the mistake of fitting one of those ebay so called "dampers" many years ago, needles to say I came off quite quickly when i realised that the horrible vibration that was being transmitted though the bodywork was down to that.

If you really want a proper "damper" then at least fit something like the old BMWs used to use, or a mountain bike damper, at least you wil stand a chance of it actually achieving what its supposed to do.

yes just seen that one have you got a pic of it fitted , as i can not see one fitted .

I can get a PIC tomorrow, don't have any off hand

These are for lefthand drive cars, I needed to cut and reweld the bracket the damper bolts to on the strut; other than that it was a perfect fit
