MPG seems way off ?!

Maybe somebody can help me out here...

with the increase in petrol prices i have only recently started to pay more attention to how much i am spending a week on petrol.

my car is a 97 RZ TT 6 spd manual. mods are fairly basic with a front mounted intercooler,hks silent exhaust decatted,hks air intake,hks blow off valve.

i dont think it has been remapped or had anything done with the ecu..have never had it on a rolling road -so i have no idea what the bhp is ?

anyway i am getting 300kilometers ( 186 miles ) out of 10 gallons of juice... does this sound about right ???

I fill mine every 3-4 weeks (£100 to fill) and I drive about 10 miles each way to work 5 days a week.

Works out at roughly 18.6MPG, which sounds about right for what is essentially a BPU supra.

Wish mine was cheap to run like that!

If you are being conservative you should be getting more like 22-26+ mpg

Then again that's a big 'IF'

Mine fluctuates between 15 and 25Mpg depending on the type of driving.

If you give it some welly then you may aswell have a hole in the tank.

I get about 17-18 on my short runs to work in a lot of stop start traffic. So 18 ish isn't bad.

Depends how your driving the 186 miles, is it on the motorway or round town, are you driving it

like your granny or are you gunning it everywhere ?

Hard driven you could get down to very low double figures on track and driving on a

long run with no stops and in granny mode 30 is possible on an engine thats running

sweetly and a chassis thats lined up, doesnt have any seizing calipers and your tyre

pressures are correct

186 miles to what looks like about 60-65 quid of fuel depending on fuel price.

Seems about right around, i get around 150-160 on 50quid of juice commuting, on the motorway i'd see 200+ on the same amount so 300km to 10 gallon of fuel seems alright if urban

My BPU used to return as little as 8mpg on short journeys and up to around 23mpg on motorway cruises, so I'd say your ~19mpg is about right. Supras aren't known for outstanding economy!

Depends what boost you're running... If it's been raised to the magic 1.1 - 1.2 bar then around 400bhp, if not then, uh, less!

As above, depends on boost level, 1.1-1.2bar 380-410 horsepower at the crank
