I am having to get a new set of alloys.. i like the 19" alloys i have but ive been informed that they are so badly corroded that they cannot be painted.. So i am left with 1 choice and that is to buy new ones.

Can you post pictures of any alloys you think would suit a silver supra.. preferably not black alloys as i think they are too common nowadays.

Thanks

the guy said that if he was to sand blast them then it would go through the alloy itself.. if i was to tap one of the spokes with a hammer it would snap.. so they are unsafe and unusable.. I have seen a set of BBS alloys that have got me interested.. they are brand new from the guy himself.. hes cut the price and everything because of the hassle.. ill let you all know whats happening tomorrow. cheers folks

So this guy is saying he has a brand new set if BBS rims, and has "cut" the price for you for the hassle, after telling you that you're alloys are unsafe and would break if you hit them with a hammer?

This would mean they would shatter if you hit a pot hole.

Before doing anything, I would get a second opinion.

Sound s to me that he is taking you for a mug, and trying to guarantee the sale of a set of rims, and would probably take yours off your hands to save you getting rid of them. At which point, he would probably sandblast them, paint them, and sell those for a massive profit also.

I'm always wary of people who "just so happen" to have a "perfect solution" to a "problem" you were not even aware you had.

Just my views from what has been quoted.

If it is a trader on here you have taken the wheels to, I apologise, no harm meant.

This is a second opinion mate.. he sand blasted one of them and they have started to crumble.. i suspected that they were finished because of the corrosion.. they were chrome plated and from what i have heard this doesnt do alloys any good because of the weather.. i will be taking the wheels away with me.. Its an establishment called SKIDZ in Falkirk.. Big company up here so the choice to buy the new ones from him was going to be a good chance anyway.. cheers for the concern though.
