Hi all, for mot my guy advised me that my single rear diff mount (n/a subrame) bush is splitting due to trying to take all the load of my single turbo and said needs to be changed soon as posible.

So i got some solid 20m thick mounts made that are a direct replacement for the rubber 1 and also made up another for the other mount that i hadnt got, so i cut out the old unit and welded these 2 in place checked the diff oil while i was there and took it for a test drive.

OH MY GOD it sounds like a straight cut diff and whines on power and worst while engine breaking, now i dont mind the noise but is it normal for it to be so loud, i realise the rubber mount acts as a sound baffle to stop the noise traveling into the subframe but i was shocked as how well the rubber mount works.

I was going to do my front diff mounts but changed my mind virtually instantly lol.

Just wondering if tohers have solid welded in rear diff mounts and whats yours sound like.

My car is fully stripped so might be louder then normal.
