What does error code 42 mean?

thanks for the replies - just had a search and found out it is a speed sensor related issue - speedos working fine by the way

 

99 times out of 100 its not actully the speed sensor that is at fault. Its usually the circuit board behind the odometer. I replaced mine with a 2nd hnd part but there is a workaround you can do by jumping somw wires to bypass the dodgy circuit. I can't remember the details but they wil be on here somewhere.

When this fault occurs do you get anything else failing ect other than the fault codes? My speedo died & i'm getting the same fault code & was thinking speed converter but want to check all possibilities.
