Replacing oil filter housing

Has anyone had this done and have an idea of cost ? Mine has a crack in it and is leaking the most miniscule amount of oil but it is a leak none the less. Does anyone have a part number for the housing so I can let Mr T take me to brown town ?

Thanks, Mike

It's very easy when coupled with an oil change. Basically it's a single bolt.

Drain oil.

Undo filter.

Disconnect coolant pipes.

Undo single large bolt.

Remove housing.

Replace with new and reattach.

Oh and refill oil.

Simples!!

You can do it without changing the oil but you might as well change this whilst changing the filter.

I would rate it a 6 or 7 out of 10 for difficulty, if you don't have the luxury of a ramp the water coolant hoses to the housing are a real PITA to unclip and get back on. I use high quality Jubilee clips when I put the hoses back on, and a flexi-driver to tighten them. Getting pliers on the stock spring steel clips, with the engine in the car, is a total nightmare. Fit a new O ring between filter housing and block. Special seal, Mr T only.

How much would you charge for the job ? If I supply parts and fluids ?
