Just a question to the few people that might have a idea

how much does the stock exhaust affect EGT?

could you use the stock exhaust with a single turbo?

im starting to wonder as Mr T thought that the system with cats was not restrictive to cause problems with EGT so miuse the cats surely this system cant be that bad can it?

has anyone run a stock exhaust with a double decat does it make more boost the stock?

okay not found too much information on this but clearly they are more restrictive then a cat back, when decating it doesnt make much if any more boost.

a couple of links in this thread http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?85791-BPU-(J-Spec)-with-stock-exhaust&highlight=stock+exhaust

im wanting to get the car noise levels down to track day levels and have my stock exhaust sitting there.

my cat back with a bung its still too loud but this is a massive restriction bringing my 3" exhaust to a 2" if not lower

now the stock exhaust i think starts with a 3" then splits off to 2x 2" (iirc) a total of 4" or even if it was down to 1.5"x 2 would still make a 3" exhaust, okay it has 3x large silencers but if i bye passed the 2 mid section ones and just left the back box how do you think this would act like in regards to flow, noise and EGT

the stock exhaust is still very restrictive much more then a 3" due to the area of the pipes

The 2 x 2" sections combined have a sectional area of 6.28 square inches, whereas the single 3" section has a sectional area of 7.07 square inches - around a 12.6% increase

the 2x2" could be changed to 2.5" which has a area of 9.8" sq .
