listy
Before anyone says, no it's not a mouse or any other small rodent It tend to happen when pulling off. It is definitely in the dash somewhere, as it can't be heard from outside the car, only inside. Anyone else had this? How did you sort it? Where should I be looking? I'm guessing there might be a screw loose somewhere.
skippyboyo1
Have you had the dash out? When I had mine out I applied a small amout of silicone to each fixing point to stop this. If not what side of the dash is it coming from?
Dim Sum
You could remove the whole dash and refit it. The dash don't take long to remove. That you you could make sure there's no small rodent Also checking there's nothing loose and etc. Because that's what I did when there was any noise from behind the dash, I had something knocking. Turned out to be the GPS receiver from the stereo so I stuck it down.
listy
The dash hasn't come out. It seems to be from the centre somewhere. I'm going to see if I can find it with just removing the panels first. Hopefully I won't have to take the whole dash out, as it's my daily. - - - Updated - - - The dash hasn't come out. skippyboyo1
In that case check the heater pipes as they go real brittle with all the changing temps over the years, I can't see a screw coming loose under there tbh but obviously worth a Check
David P
Whilst driving, do a bit of pushing and holding of the dash panels in the squeaky region, if you can get it to stop, then you've either squashed the rodent or found your loose screw. Done that to no avail. It's deep in the dash somewhere.
Graham1984
Has anyone suggested a rodent yet
Iky
I had one (actually still have but havn't had a chance to sort it), it was the small boxes on top of the stereo mounting. I think it's the antenna controller possibly. It's the type of plastic they are made of. Rubs together on itself and makes a damn racket.
