Converting to single turbo yourself, how much experience needed? What tools needed?

As titled I would like to get an idea if i am able to do a single turbo convention myself or if It's a much better idea allowing a reputable garage to do it?

I like the idea of doing it myself because instead of paying somebody to do it, I can use the money to buy tools and do it myself.

What specialist tools will I need or will be really good to have?

its easy at the end of the day a turbo is just part of the exhaust system, you could easy do it in a weekend, but there will be bits that you will find out once its on that you need to do like fabricate the intake and intercooler piping
