hey guys just got my supra last month, have wanted one of these since i was a kid. finally have one.

1995 imported in 2001

114,000 km roughly works out round 70,000ish miles

sz aerotop na auto

all seems in good condition for the age

just wondering on a few things.

1) looks like driver side headlight is different to passenger side, drivers side is alot brighter looking where as passenger is duller any ideas?

2) getting abit of rattling in the interior comming from the boot , guessing its bits of plastic trim rattling?

3) anywhere that sells new seals for the aero top? previous owner said seal was abit perished so i havent bothered disturbing it as isnt leaking yet , but u know typical british weather!

cheers guys

Welcome both, the lense will of discoloured and can be polished/t cutted to make it look better,do a search as plenty of chat about tbe lenses.

Rattling is probably plastics ,mines all tight and yet still makes noises and if you want new seals im guessing its a call to toyota or try keron on here as he may have good used one, nice car and both enjoy your cars and the club

Welcome :)

When you say a rattle near the boot, is it a rattle, or a squeaky sound? If its like a squeak, then its your boot rubbers. Replacements cost around £25 from Garage Whifbitz.

With the lights, as previously mentioned, use G3 rubbing compound or similar, to polish the lenses. If one was glass and one plastic, you can easily tell, just give them a tap with your finger nail. It could just be that one has perished more than the other, or the previous owner replaced one light with a newer one. Who knows.

EDIT: In the pictures, they look like glass headlights. Is it the lense, or the light that is emmited that seems duller? If its the actual light emmited, check to make sure the bulb holder is seated correctly in the light. This can make a difference. Also, check that the correct bulbs are fitted.

As for the seals for the aero top, Keron is your best bet.

Welcome to the club

Looking at the pics, your Drivers side is a glass UK headlight and your passenger is a J-Spec plastic headlight

I would guess the previous owner smashed one and replaced it with the wrong type of headlight

The problem they would of had when doing this is the bulbs/ bulb holders are different and I would guess they bodged them to get them to fit

I hate to say it, but give the front end a very good check for crash damage

Good luck and welcome along

Have checked for crash damage thoroughly. No evidence at all to show a crash. Original bumper, no bends on any steel work. And original radiators. Even the wiring at back of headlight looks legit. Odd

Fea.more questions. Seems my car is still restricted to 112mph how can I get this off? Also is there any good supra specialists / garages /mechanics known in the Shropshire/north wales areas? Cheers guys.
