some of the supras on this club site have acheived some superb car upgrades, good engineering etc. SO how old is the eldest member of the club. ? i ask this as myself and my brother bought our supras new in 1994 and 1995, both black, mine 5 speed manual non turbo, 40k miles, and my brothers tt auto, 25k miles.

we enjoy the performance and quality of engineering, but the critics say you have to talk rap, be fresh out of high school or a hairdresser to own this breed. ?

so when you pass 45 yrs old do you have to buy a landrover. ?http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=155169&stc=1&d=1343234498

i think that thered be more members that are older than you think mate, i doubt theres many younger guys that can afford them, insurance and fuel etc. i got mine 2 years ago when i was 20 and that was only through saving like mad.

you see loads of older chaps in ferraris, gtr's and so on. so whats the difference between them and a supra? my dad was one of the reasons i got one as he came close to getting one when i was younger. age doesnt matter mannnn!

I am trying to work out how you bought a new Supra with 40k & 25k on the clock? :D

Like any car market you always have chavs who demarket or devaule a car. This doesn't generally mean that everyone else is the same. Just yesterday I saw a black F430 with dark tints, black after market wheels (which looked tacky), the rear diffuser resprayed black with the rear lights too. It made such a lovely car look so tatty!! You always have one...

hi tkddav3, i never thought of it the way you look at it, may be my grandsons who are all "petrol heads" look at it the same way. i have always been a biker quite involved in the isle of man tt races, the supra got me off the bikes and made me safer. the mk4 supra IMHO has to be black, it is a car that was well ahead of its time, well engineered, not suitable for scratchin on narrow bends etc, but very fast and stable on m/ways and some a roads. the real joy is comming down from glasgow on the m74 wind and rain, great vortex of spray looking through the spoiler, lit up by the tail lights, sure footed, totally stable, flashing past everything, covering a mile every 30 seconds, i love the thing, had two 911,s and a big merc, but my supra, which is no money is the best.

SO maybe my peer group who put forward that supras are for young guys who have just upgraded from their corsa are just enviouse. ? herbiemercman.http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=155204&stc=1&d=1343273189http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=155205&stc=1&d=1343273250http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=155204&stc=1&d=1343273189

Ha the M74 is right on my doorstep im right on J14 (Crawford) and it is an outstanding road piece of road that is wide open and has looong straights with no hiding places for the law so you really can wind up your supra. Anyway back on topic im 36 but i know a guy who works locally and he is 60-odd and loves his Supra also so age doesn't really come into it as its a world famous car liked (and feared) by all. IMO. Just ENJOY it.

I couldn't be bothered with cars when i was younger, bikes where way quicker, bought my Supra at 53 sold it at 57, QUOTE]

Always had the comfy BM's and Audi's for work - honda fireblade at weekends - then chris convinced me 57 was to old for bikes so we sold the bike and got the supe and loving it

thanks guys, great comments, i can now step out of my "black rocket" without trepidation, i am 68 going on 30, can still drive at high speed which not everyone can do, takes years of practice to "read it" at speed, fast bikes give you a great grounding for the fast cars, due to the exposure factors..

i have been looking in the club's classified adds and there are some stunning examples of the mk4 breed, must keep my feet on the ground though. i have four cars and do all my own repairs and maintenance. herbiemercman.

57. I no longer own a Supra, but still have some fairly fast toys and still enjoy using them, but not on the road. I am lucky in that round here the roads are quiet and there are some awesome places for spirited driving if you don't hold your driving licence in any regard. I do, so all my spirited driving is on a track these days. Road driving is mainly a chore, and road cars hold zero interest to me. The nice thing about living round hers is zero traffic jams. When I go into a major city II just pity the poor saps who still have to face shocking congestion and a sea of mainly useless signage every day. I have driven total sheds for the last 15 years and reckon that it's saved me a small fortune :) If it gets me there and back without having to lift the bonnet, I'm happy.
