Missfireing

I think my na auto mite be missfireing, the only changes i have made to it is put iridum spark plugs in and put the stock airfilter on with new filter, stupid question cos it the stock air filter i put on but is it getting enough air or what could be the problem

Whats the part number of the plugs you put in? and were they already gapped to .11?

The stock filter won't make a difference, as Geo said, maybe plug gaps?

Im going with spark plugs or leads. Check they are all connected properly, all the plugs are gapped correctly and are the correct ones for the car.

Either the gaps or they aren't torqued down enough.

I made sure the plugs were gapped to 43 Thou which were perfect.

I had never put new plugs in before and mine misfired. I tightened down the plugs a little bit more and all was fine.

I'm pretty sure you don't Gap iridiums as you can damage the tip and they come pre-gapped already

Is it actually misfiring or not ?

You could pull each plug lead off one at a time to see if you have a cylinder playing

There is a wee bit too much oil in the car to but i dont think it would cause it to miss, will to much oil do any harm?

5 and 6 are a pain in the arse as we no for water and general grime getting in there, I've had issues with this and also the ht leads going down.

Air filter will make zero difference, here's what to do..... Old spark plugs back in, if it's still missing its more than lightly the ht leads however if it stops its obviously the plugs.

I wouldn't worry, the jza80 may get slated on here but as long as its got water and oil it's bomb proof.

Edit.... Not too much oil though! Too much of a good thing and all that! Defo don't over fill the oil it's as bad as not having any

make sur you didnt get water in 3 and 4 when you took the feed to the throttle body off. ive seen it a few times

Will itjust use up the excess oil and blow it out the back?

Yes underneath the car, same filter as the TT.

I did a diagnostic check it was the engine management light light flashed is the right? It gave a code 24 for Intake air tep sensor, sounds about right as that would cause missfiring

Pritty sure its the one at the air box according to man at ssi n never normaly wrong, anyone else had this problem
