Best place to buy a serpentine belt...

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a supplier for the serpentine belt for my N/A please?

 

After his misbehaviour this morning i noticed I should replace it

 

GSF Car parts, have branches in most towns, if not they will post. 6pk1955 for around 12 quid and made by Gates or Dayco.

Are you sure the part number is correct? I think it might be 6pk1936...

 

I struggled to get that to fit on mine. the 1955 is a nice fit if you have oem pulleys and AC. On the tensioner there are two marks that line up when the tension is correct and the 1955 put them bang in line on mine. I know mines a TT, but the pulleys are the same. I did a search and looked up a few old threads and some people were using belts down to 1936, some 1938, but I really didnt like how tight they are and went with the 1955 its still doing the job for me quite a few miles on. I had to really push the tensioner arm hard over to it's extreme to get the smaller ones on. Dont forget that number is the circumference (I think) so 15-20mm wont make much difference anyhow with the amount of movement there is on the arm, but the 1955 is not under such tension, but also shows no sign of slipping either and as I said, the markers line up perfectly.
