Because we sad assed Brits are stubborn!!!

We insist on owning rationally more cabrio/convertable cars than anywhere else in the world nearly even though statistically we have less sunshine and more rain than most places in the world.

Same probably applies here. In Japan they realised early on that the back seats were just for show and that they were to all intents and purposes useless really. So they didn't mind if you tripped over the front seat belts getting in the back as lets face it nobody should ever get in the back!!!

But in the UK they realised that we are stubborn bastards and would even if we had to wear our knees around our ears would attempt to get 2 adults in the back.

They also knew that we would whinge like fcuk about tripping over said seat belt on the way into the back even though we would happily sit bashing our ears with our knees.:D

But I thought that it has been noted that the Jap motors have the seat belt fixing in the front of the two holes set aside for the UK spec? So the UK one would have the ability of tripping the small midgets/children trying to get into the rear of a soop and not the J Spec. (I could be completely wrong, but I'm well on my way to getting pissed).

In the front hole yes indeedy. Which means that it stretches out across the gap between the seat and the B pillar or doorframe edge. Hence anyone getting into the back of the supra would be likely to put their foot into the trap it kind of makes and fall into the back of the car. On the UK car the belt slides backwards so it is no longer causing a trip hazard in the doorway to rear access area.

You know I often considered rocket science as a job lol:music:
