Speedhut dials wiring help

Hey all,

Quick question...

Trying to fit these, but not having much luck...

Ive tried the solder trick onto the back of the dial cluster, but no joy.... keeps breaking off....

Anyway, with the top half of the dash stripped i can see my KPH to MPH converter...

On the little box it says:

WHT 12V Signal (Not connected)

BRN 5V Signal

RED Power

BLK Gnd

BLU In

These wires go to one of the connectors that connects to the back of the speedo cluster...

So, my question is.... Can I use this to connect the Speedhut power and earth to ?

Tap into the Red for the power and tap into the BLK for my earth...

I hope that makes sense....

Sorry no camera to hand or multimeter to hand at the moment...

Thanks

Yeah, I want them only to come on when the lights are on...

Connecting to the wires you have said (ciggy plug) will they only come on when lights are on then ?

Yeah, thinking about what I said, they would be on the whole time !!! OOOoooppppsssss :o)

Remember you want to connect to the Ciggy lighter Bulb (Small grey plug), not the actual ciggy lighter power feed (big white plug).
