Speaking with Ross yesterday at the Cars and Rides meet in Glasgow and he was asking about Servicing, and asked if i can help him do his on his car before pod? Im checking dates as im on standby alot just now, due to boss being off alot. I came up with this little list, if i've missed anything can you let me know?

FAO ROSS

Read and get to know the Locations of everything were going to change

Oil Change

Spark Plug change

3) Get the car up in the air, preferrably on a ramp, failing that get the front on ramps/axle stands.

4) Remove the 2 EFI fuses from the fuse box under the bonnet, crank the engine over a few times to depressurise the system.

5) IMPORTANT: using a spanner on the flats on the filter and a (pipe) spanner on the flare nuts on the pipe, just loosen the pipe connections either end of the filter.

You will get petrol coming out, but depending on the level of the tank and the angle of the car, hopefully not too much. Be prepared for the worse, with lots of absorbant rags.

6) Remove the 2 filter retaining bolts

7) Remove the filter pipes using 2 spanners, be prepared for (lots of) petrol spillage, but dont panic

8) Fit the pipes to the new filter, don't panic and cross thread them, and don't tighten them yet, so that you can position the filter

9) Replace the 2 filter retaining bolts, remembering to fit the earth strap

10)Tighten the filter pipes using both spanners

11)Replace the 2 EFI fuses

12)Start the car and check for leaks

13)lower car from jacks, drive off ramp etc.

14)congratulate yourself on another job well done

How about the Diff Oil

Yup, i'd rather do that on a ramp though. :D

how often do you change the fuel filter and do you just get a motor factors one?

The car has 120,000 on the Odo, and cant be sure if its ever been changed? So id do it every 50,000 and use Stock Part, pennies from Toyota. :D

dodgy gits, saying that she was trying to tell me it didnt even have one at first lol

might be because you have a uk spec

i know there the same but it does make a differance

Yeah the guy did ask me wether mine was an import as they are harder to get parts for ..... I did try to explain to him that virtually all the parts are identical but he was having non of it

I'd prefer you total it, i'll paypal you the money and then you buy them but thats just me just not wanting to make a mess of things ordering the wrong thing. Its totally up to you as I know that it would put alot of the onus on you which is unfair because its my car. :innocent:

Edit: If you can supply me with the exact links to all the exact parts to buy via this or facebook then i can do it easily enough myself. At the end of the day you are doing me a favour and I dont want to push my luck

First post updated with prices. :D

Looking at those prices, the only thing I cannot do is the new Oxygen sensors. Cannot justify that sort of money atm with pod comming up but im game for all the rest to get the car running sweeter
