Its about time i updated my tools and im starting with a dremmel as i often come across awkward hard to get to seized and knackered nuts and bolts (this weekend it was trying to remove the undertray from the bumper) I just wondered what handy tools you wouldn't be without? just to give me ideas.

thanks.

Decent socket set with short and long sockets. Mole grips. Power drill with screwdriver heads (i just like to unscrew things quickly lol) electrical tape, flat head and phillips screw drivers, wd40, dremmel, and that just about lets me do anything i need to do :)

This Halfords socket set & ratchet: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_163049_langId_-1_categoryId_255215

I've got a full tool cabinet, but this little set lives in the back of the car, and gets used all the time. The ratchet is ridiculously good at the normal price, never mind at the current one (only £12 at the minute)

Bojo tools are also very handy for removing trim without causing any damage.

With the small set I put together from various bits to keep in the car I have...

Socket set and handles

Screw driver set

Hex driver (Engine cover)

Small length of thin boost hose

Small length of wider boost hose

Zip Ties

WD40

3 Coil pack replacement clips

Red / Black electrical tape

Spark Plugs

Wrench / Pliers

Suspension C Spanners

Thick fabric tape

Short length of wire

Needle nose tweezers (Handy for joining T1 & TE1 for diagnostics

If people are carrying some of theirs around in your car how do you secure it? I wedge mine behind the passenger seat rather than have it rattle about in the boot. I might add a small bottle of oil and coolant at some point if I get a bigger box.

A whole host of tools but most importantly

ratchet spanners 8-19mm

large selection of screw driver bits and ratchet screwdriver.

10 12 and 14mm impact sockets.

extra long 3/8 ratchet ( from Halford's spark plug service set)

large selection of Hammers and chisels

Snap on welder (currently hiding in the boot of a rusty Renault that's being rebuilt)

4 grinders with various cutting and grinding wheels fitted.

Gas torch for seized nuts and bolts.

Oh and my 4ft long scaffold pole for releasing bottom ball joints etc.
