There hundreds of threads about going single. Its not as easy as just putting a turbo and manifold on.

  • Larger injectors,
  • Standalone or Piggyback ECU to control them,
  • downpipe,
  • fuel pump,
  • FMIC (if you dont have one already)
  • Clutch (if your manual)
  • Extra Gearbox Coolers (if your auto)
  • Wastegate
  • Manifold
  • Turbo
  • Oil feeds/retuns
  • List goes on

Please please do a search :D

The UK doesn't have just a Manifold and turbo, it has full BPU supporting mods also, ie FMIC, FCD, Double Decat, colder plugs etc. He hasn't just bolted a turbo straight on. The only thing he has left stock is the fueling, thats because the UK spec has bigger injectors so he could get away with it. The jap spec would struggle.

You would need to buy a full turbo kit if you wanted to do it, ie turbo, manifold, DP, Oil feeds, either a standalone or piggyback ecu etc. If you have a standard Clutch it'd be best to upgrade that also. It IS possible to do it on a budget, as a few people have done it. The UK spec for sale is a good example as he's kept it simple and gone for modest results.

And very good value for money too considering its been built by Lee!

Fonzey, I think you will really struggle to go single on a tight budget. As people have said, the cost can run close to £10k but that is with labour - if you do some bits yourself it can bring it down but you would still be looking at well over £6k. Plus its then the maintenance - little bits go wrong or if it doesn't run right it can end up costing a fortune to fix or even diagnose!

Still think you should do it though! :D
