TRD steering, nice

Yes, I imported the TRD steering wheel many years ago... it was the ~2nd blue one in the US for a while... I more recently installed the TRD shift light (let me know if you guys need the special DIP switch settings to make it work with our 6-cylinder engines) and the TRD gauge set (turbo boost and oil pressure).

She is a bit of a garage queen... only 11,000 original miles, bought her new in 1997 (special order from Japan, since at that time no local US dealers carried any real inventory). In the US, they made ~22 of the Supras in Royal Sapphire Pearl (RSP).

Hi Tony -

I do try to drive her... in fact I am going to VIR (Virginia International Raceway) this Friday... but she's not my daily driver (obviously). I am fortunate enough to have a 2011 Audi A4 Avant (with the factory Titanium Sport/RS package) as my fleet car for work :) That car is only 1 yr old, and already has over 26,000 miles... A picture of my Audi is attached (sorry if I offend any Supra owners here on this non-Supra picture/post... trust me, my Supra remains my most loved car :))

Nice looking supra with very low miles on the clock.

I take it - it must be standard?

Yes fastcar, it's a stock 6-speed Getrag standard transmission... twin turbo (stock) setup as well (plus some bolt ons like the TRD (original) exhaust and TRD sway bars, TRD strut tower brace, TRD stainless steel brake lines etc... pretty much most of the easy upgrades through TRD (back in the 1990s when it was easier to purchase those upgrades - much harder now)). I added the Euro hood scoop through parts ordered from the Toyota microfiche parts system at the time... that's the only permanent modification I made as I needed to cut through the bonnet... had it professionally painted (RSP of course) - it's functional, and I like the looks...

stunning mate!

new front lip will make it a treat ;)

Yes Supra N/A... payment should be hitting your bank later today... I will let you know!

All it's missing to complement that European Hood Scoop is a European Front Active Spoiler :)

Howdy and welcome

What does the "Limited Edition" mean, how is it different or limited?

Hi Wez -

In 1997, Toyota declared that model year the "15th Anniversary Limited Edition" model (15 years after the MKII Supra in 1982 I guess)... all Supras that year came with these badges on the quarter panel, and another similar badge on the center console:

The script "Limited Edition" is a die-cut decal - the other is a soft/gel emblem...

US Supras doesn't have the 5 dials dash mate :)

That is correct... that is why I needed to add the TRD turbo boost & TRD oil pressure gauges to the A-pillar pods... I added a Toyota P/N for the aluminum rings around the main dashboard gauges, so they now match pretty closely to the newer TRD ones...

A few years ago on holiday in Florida I saw a black supra in a hotel carpark with the limited edition emblems. Totally stock it was...

But it had obviously been parked in the sun every day since it rolled off the production line. The paint was faded and matt. Such a shame :(
